Partnership with outsourcing firm that hires people with disabilities helps reach sales projections
COLUMBUS, OH (October 14, 2008) - AMT Machine Systems, a recognized leader in control systems engineering and product development, has teamed up with Pearl Interactive Network employee Jerry Hypes, a seasoned sales professional who happens to be blind. Thanks to Hypes' more than 35 years of experience in retail, industrial sales and manufacturing-as well as assistive technology which provides the accommodations he needs to accomplish his workload-Hypes has helped AMT Machine Systems achieve 10% of its sales goal so far, with another 15-20% of prospects in the pipeline for closing.

Pearl Interactive Network, a social enterprise specializing in, tele-work and related virtual call center services, received national certification as a Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC). In addition to the WBENC certification, Pearl Interactive was awarded the Employer of the Year Award by the Ohio Governors Council on People with Disabilities.
Throughout October, which is National Disability Employment Awareness Month, the Office of Disability Employment Policy will profile on its Web site individuals who have personally benefited from agency-sponsored programs aimed at eliminating the chronic underemployment of people with disabilities, as well as employers and organizations that have successfully implemented strategies to hire, support, empower and otherwise value employees with disabilities. Ohio Public Private Partnership Yields Jobs for Severely Disabled. The Ohio Rehabilitation Services Commission (RSC) and Pearl Interactive Network (PIN), a for-profit firm, have formed a unique private and public sector collaboration to assist people with disabilities and a long history of unemployment in finding good jobs.
